    As a Retail Leasing Intern, you will be directly responsible for adding value to JBG SMITH’s retail properties through research, prospecting, tenant-mix planning, marketing, and lease negotiations. This is a compensated internship.


    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Building a database of restaurant sales comps throughout the Washington DC metro area.
    • Updating market study reports and maintaining the retail leasing comps database.
    • Identifying prospects to lease space in existing centers and new development projects.
    • Engaging in conversations and email exchanges with local brokers.
    • Cold calling and canvassing for leads.
    • Touring retail space and participating in site tours with prospective tenants.
    • Providing pro forma underwriting and market research on existing properties and new developments.
    • Assisting marketing with preparation of site plans, advertising, branding, and additional marketing materials.
    • Managing and maintaining retail leasing status reports and tracking leasing progress in VTS (View the Space).


    A qualified candidate should currently be enrolled in a four-year college (ideally a rising Senior) and must possess strong communication skills and be highly driven/self-motivated.  Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is a must.  Please provide a resume and/or relevant work experience.
