    Real Estate Manager, Retail Property Management

    What Experience You Will Gain:

    The Real Estate Manager will oversee a portfolio of multiple retail properties. In the Real Estate Manager role, you will have the opportunity to (i) deepen your property management and leadership skills (ii) develop retail and financial management expertise, and (iii) interact with many groups throughout the company including leasing, asset management, accounting, lease administration and the retail leadership team at JBG SMITH.

    Responsibilities

    What You Will Do:

    The Real Estate Manager is responsible for working with Vice Presidents, Asset Managers and third-party owners to maximize the financial and operational performance of the assets in the Real Estate Manager’s portfolio. Your specific responsibilities will include:

    • Driving financial performance in-line with business plans and annual budgets
    • Developing strong relationships with tenants and providing excellent customer service
    • Managing accounts receivable and collection efforts with legal and asset management
    • Routinely inspecting the property to ensure the highest standards are maintained
    • Managing the bid process for maintenance and service contracts and overseeing vendor relationships to ensure compliance with service standards / scope of work
    • Organizing any required landlord work and coordinating with construction management to oversee tenant buildouts to ensure that new tenants open on time
    • Collecting, reporting, and tracking the status of all property claims with risk management
    • Preparing monthly financial reports including variance analysis
    • Participating in the rotation for after-hours calls

    Qualifications

    • College degree and prior retail, property management or marketing experience preferred
    • Demonstrated passion for service and a commitment to excellence

    • Professional presentation and superior written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with a variety of software systems (Yardi preferred) and Excel spreadsheets
    • Ability to drive to multiple properties on a routine basis
