  • Overview

    The SEC Accountant will assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting including, but not limited to: Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, quarterly supplemental information package, and monthly and quarterly internal management reporting. The SEC Accountant will also work closely with the SEC Group to evaluate new accounting pronouncements and document findings of related implementation efforts. Further, this individual will work in collaboration with both internal and external auditors as well as with other groups within the Company.


    • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (e.g., Form 10-K and 10-Q) and supplemental information reporting package;
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other schedules, included in the Company’s quarterly earnings release and filed on Form 8-K with the SEC;
    • Responsible for maintaining support for SEC filings;
    • Assist in the interpretation, communication and implementation of new accounting and reporting standards;
    • Participate in the analysis and review of various periodic journal entries to be recorded in the general ledger, including those related to significant leasing activity, asset acquisitions and dispositions;
    • Preparation of 8-K and various other ad-hoc SEC filings as needed;
    • Preparation of statutory financial statements related to various subsidiaries and joint ventures;
    • Involvement, as necessary, in any other SEC filings (e.g., Proxy, Forms S-1, S-3 and S-8);
    • Assist in the coordination with external and internal auditors with regards to review and audit procedures, which includes providing auditors with support for figures presented in SEC filings;
    • Assist in the development and documentation of new accounting policies and procedures;
    • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and internal control processes;
    • Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment; and
    • Special projects as needed.

    Education and/or Experience:


    • Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Required: Strong Excel skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Preferred: Previous accounting or auditing experience in the commercial real estate environment and/or with US GAAP
    • Preferred: Experience with Yardi
    • Preferred: CPA License
