Overview

The Social Events Representative coordinates and executes strategies for special events during baseball games and other events as needed. They will handle crowd control as well as provide high energy to keep the event and guests engaged and entertained. Provide entertainment at over 40 Washington Nationals home games, All Star Weekend, and outside community appearances. During games take pictures with fans to enhance all-around game experience.

IMPORTANT: This is an event driven position with no set work schedule. You MUST be available to work irregular hours and sometimes on short notice.

Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate and thoroughly communicate with the Community Manager in setup and game day experience.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to handle intense situations.
  • Have enthusiasm and high energy always to keep the entertainment level high. 
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
  • Implement established outreach strategies. 
  • Collect event/demonstration recaps, pictures, video and reports and submit to Management.
  • Organize, coordinate, and participate in special events and work directly with our onsite team to ensure giveaways and swag items are available.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with local businesses, organizations, etc.
  • Manage the setup, operation, and break down of event demonstrations.
  • Confirm with venues and partners prior to arrival on-site.
  • Maintain a positive customer service attitude
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Organize, attend, and/or participate in special events
  • Adhere to all fair housing laws.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in leasing, sales, or high-end customer service or similar field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively speak in front of diverse crowds, proficient in public speaking.
  • Strong and proactive communication skills
  • Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, personable and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Must be willing to endure long hours and event site set up.
  • Experience with event site logistics is a plus.
  • Experience in event planning is favorable
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Flexible and able to learn quickly and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of baseball rules, teams, history, and love of the game preferred.
