Overview

The Lead Engineer will work closely with the on-site Property Manager, Portfolio Manager and other members of the team. As such, the selected individual must be friendly, helpful, responsive, a team player, and maintain a positive attitude while dealing with any issue or task. The ability to maintain composure and professionalism while handling multiple issues with tight deadlines is key.

Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer will be involved with budget preparation and fiscal management of the property.

The ability to maintain composure and professionalism while handling multiple issues with tight deadlines is key.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must exhibit a good work ethic, be highly motivated with proven initiative and extensive experience in the operation and design of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Requires strong supervisory skills, and proactive oversight of the building and surrounding properties.

 

Excellent organizational skills are required as the Lead Engineer will be responsible for establishing building operational programs and implementation of the preventive maintenance program. Qualified candidates must be able to balance simultaneous tasks and work well under pressure, and must possess strong trouble-shooting and problem resolution skills. Flexibility in working hours is required

 

The position requires a strong working knowledge and experience in operation and maintenance of central systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and zone controlled individual AHU package units. Previous experience in tenant construction and coordination of multi-events is essential.

 

Candidate must have a District of Columbia 3rd-Class license for this position, and CFC certification. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience.

 

Candidates must have strong leadership ability, be a positive role model, mentor, and team player with excellent supervisory skills. Must be capable of motivating and managing a dynamic team. Strong customer relations skills are a must in this role.

 

Candidates must demonstrate strong intrapersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Knowledge in spreadsheet, word processing, e-mail, and preventative maintenance software preferable (i.e., Windows XP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
